Note:
L1 alludes to The Ballad of East and West
by Rudyard Kipling :

"Oh, East is East, and West is West,
and never the twain shall meet,
Till Earth and Sky stand presently
at God's great Judgment Seat;
But there is neither East nor West,
Border, nor Breed, nor Birth,
When two strong men stand face to face,
tho' they come from the ends of the earth!"

***** minaret

A minaret (Turkish: minare, from Arabic manārah (lighthouse)مناره, sometimes مئذنه) is a distinctive architectural feature of Islamic mosques, generally a tall spire with an onion-shaped or conical crown, usually either free standing or taller than any associated support structure. The basic form of a minaret includes a base, shaft, and gallery.
Styles vary regionally and by period. Minarets provide a visual focal point and are used for the call to prayer (adhan).
